Since it's just me and my daughter, and she's off to spend the required time with the ex, I thought I would share with my other family what I am thankful for.
If you want to share back just comment.
There is so much that I'm thankful for, even if my year has been stressful.
This time last year I had been out of the hospital 10 days ago for shortness of breath. My health is slowly getting back on track thanks to doctors and encouragement from my friends and family, so thank you.
We managed to survive the merger of our local law firm with a regional firm, going from 55 lawyers to over 600. The new processes and policies have been tough but we are smoothing out. I'm thankful I have a job and that I'm one of the go-to folks on our floor in dealing with the ins and outs of the main office.
While it's not done, I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel in terms of the child support issue. We go to court on Dec. 17th for what hopefully will be the final resolution.
On to more personal stuff - my daughter.
She is 16, is smart, gorgeous, has pink hair, a piercing, is ACE with a long distance girlfriend, and I'm so proud of her. She has thoughts on the state of the world (and knows what she is talking about), her friends are socially conscious as well. She is always there when I need her, with hugs and advice and bad jokes and singing in the car with the windows down...I'm the luckiest mom on the face of the planet.
And my friends - my fandom family. You, make me laugh and cry and think and create. If it weren't for SPN and WC I would not have you. No names, because inevitably I will forget someone, but each one of you is special to me. Thanks for sharing your talents and friendship.
I'm done before I make myself cry....
